Who hosts the cruises?
All Black Rose premium gondola experiences come with an exclusive host for the evening. Your host will be one of our Master Gondoliers who takes you out for an unforgettable adventure filled with an array of accoutrements. This isn’t one of our traditional Gondola rides… this specific ride will satisfy the tastebuds!
What kind of food will be served?
Prepare to be whisked away on a culinary journey by Amalfi Cucina Italiana, our next-door neighbors known for their exquisite Italian fare. Your taste buds will embark on a delightful adventure starting with a tantalizing appetizer, followed by two delectable dinner courses. It’s a perfectly crafted menu to complement the romance of the tranquil lake.
Why Black Rose?
Black roses are loved for their mysterious yet elegant appearance. They were used as a symbol within the Sicilian mafia to send a hidden message that could not be detected. It is this secrecy that symbolizes the nature of our Premium Experience, creating an intimacy of the unknown that must be witnessed first hand.
The black rose can symbolize many different events and the context of how it is used shows what the person intended to communicate. While many consider it a dark symbol, we use the black rose for the other side of its’ meaning, as a symbol of new beginnings. A gift for you or a special someone starting a new chapter in life.

Due to their exclusive nature, we ask that our San Diego dinner cruise premium experiences be scheduled a minimum of two weeks in advance to ensure optimal planning. Some exceptions can be made, but please note that all of the options may not be available if scheduled inside of two weeks. Must be 21 & Over.

We added a message in a bottle; which made the whole experience even more amazing and memorable for our Mom's Birthday! Gondoliers were friendly and fun. The entire experience was fantastic and we would love to do it again in the near future.

He races in Venice and sang for us in Italian serenading our evening with an amazing voice. He educated us on the boats and was just a delight. Drew, the owner I can’t speak highly enough to either he helped me locate the dock and accommodate all my family’s needs, allowed us to bring snack and wine. Great night! Must do in San Diego!

Gorgeous views, enjoyable education, and the best part was Capri (the most gorgeous and charismatic frenchie). This needs to be at the top of your list to see/experience if you visit San Diego.

Mason, our gondolier, was informative and delightful - sharing interesting tidbits about Lake San Marcos and the wildlife we encountered. We topped off our evening by enjoying a delicious meal at Amalfi. Overall, a very enjoyable time. Highly recommend.
